Protect Your Valuables
Once you’ve cleaned and prepared your home for showing, don’t forget to safeguard your valuables and personal items. Stow all jewelry, heirlooms, prescriptions, expensive cameras, etc. out of sight. You might ask a friend or neighbor to watch them for you. We can leave notes asking agents not to enter certain rooms and warn them about your pets, but it’s better for buyers to have complete access to your home. Every agent who accesses your home is required to use an electronic key, so that each visit is documented.
Consider a Home Warranty
Attract buyers by offering a home warranty. These relatively inexpensive policies offer protection against breakdowns of plumbing, electrical, heating, air conditioning and other systems for the buyer for 12 months after closing. (Individual policies vary by company). Homes with warranties tend to sell faster and closer to the asking price. Your home warranty premium is paid at closing so there’s no cost to you until the home sells.
